TITLE: Computer Engineer

LOCATION: This is an on-site position in Bloomington, Indiana.

DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user experience and interface design, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team of developers. The ideal candidate will research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and software systems, including managing and testing software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and enhance user interfaces to improve user experience.
• Collaborate with a team of developers to identify and resolve issues, create innovative solutions, and provide support for deployed applications.
• Write, test, debug, and document software in multiple programming languages, adhering to modern best practices and standards.
• Document code and engineering procedures to ensure clarity and maintainability.
• Participate in virtual team meetings to discuss project progress and share insights.
• Assist in the creation of user manuals and other technical documentation to support end-users.
• Facilitate functional testing of software to ensure quality and performance.
• Work autonomously and participate in a team of developers to solve issues, create solutions, and provide support for deployed applications.

Position Requirements:

• RHEL 8 / Rocky Linux / CentOS.
• Podman (rootless containers).
• TypeScript, React, Node.js.
• Hono or Express (REST APIs).
• PostgreSQL, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Python.
• Bash scripting, Git, SSH / Remote system management.
• Systemd, Docker / Container technologies.
• VMware ESXi, Java, WebSocket.
• OpenSSL / Certificate management.

Education:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field is preferred.
• Candidates should also possess a CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $98,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

License/Certification:

• Linux+ or Microsoft Certification (Preferred)

Security clearance:

• Secret (Preferred)
